(via Yanko Design)

It has to be asked why the designers Hwang Youn Has & Han Seung Bum have spent time and money developing sticky tape that is divided into three bands, two opaque ones at the sides and a transparent one in the middle. And it’s hard to come up with an answer. To be able to get the tape to run in a straight line down the center of a cardboard box? Perhaps for the decorative effect, if there is one, and then? And considering that they have won a Red Dot Concept Award, we also have to wonder on what criteria these prizes are assigned. (via Yanko Design)

I wouldn’t say it’s an unnecessary idea at all. One reason I love buying from independents and people who really care about design is the packaging that it comes in when I receive it through the post.
