Oltre a vedere da vicino come viveva e lavorava, una visita alla casa-studio di Donald Judd, al 101 di Spring Street a New York è un’occasione per ammirare tutte le opere dei suoi colleghi, oltre 500, collezionate dallo stesso Judd nel corso degli anni: Claes Oldenburg, Carl Andre, Dan Flavin, Marcel Duchamp, Ad Reinhardt e molti altri. L’edificio è stato restaurato di recente dallo studio Architecture Research Office (ARO), che ne ha ricostruito interni ed esterni esattamente come erano alla fine degli anni Sessanta, quando l’artista ci si stabilì con la famiglia. Nota: fa una certa impressione pensare che a quei tempi Mercer Street fosse una zona degradata.
