After Japan, Singapore and Taiwan, the celebrated Peck restaurant and gourmet store has landed in South Korea. designed by Alessandro Scandurra, the new store occupies an area of 900 square meters in the food department on the seventh floor of a shopping mall located in the center of Seoul. For commercial reasons, the decision was taken to devote more space to the areas selling wine and fruit than to others, such as cold cuts and ready-to-eat products. The bottles are displayed in glass-fronted and cooled wine cabinets that extend from floor to ceiling. Each sales department has a tasting area with service islands and points providing information on Italian culinary culture and Peck products. The theme of the preparation of food is made the most of in the circular restaurant, onto which face projecting volumes from which customers can observe the chefs at work. Gastronomic excellence is represented by an interior design that shows a preference for traditional materials like wood, marble, colored stone and metals with a brass finish. The lighting is soft and diffuse: a few accents of bright light are marked by ample hanging lamps. A melodious and discreet feast of the senses.
