Hütte Hut
Sprouting Sprocket Studio

3 July 2015

It looks like something halfway between a drop of water and a seashell. Hütte Hut is a modern two-wheel trailer designed by the Californians Brian and Katrina Manzo, founders of the Sprouting Sprocket Studio, that explores the idea of mobile space through high-quality materials and a mix of craft and industrial manufacturing methods. Measuring around 4 sq m (44 sq ft) on the inside, it is striking above all for its compact size and the meticulous care that has been taken over the arrangement of its spaces: it can accommodate two or three people. The frame is made of aluminum to ensure lightness, maneuverability and stable towing. The cabin, accessed through a set of double doors, is lined with sheets of marine plywood and equipped with an LED ceiling lamp, a double bed, a small storage space, a canopy of waterproof canvas with arched supports and several panoramic windows that let in lots of light. Currently you can buy Hütte Hut on order, with the possibility of customizing some of the trailer’s details and accessories.
