Peninsula Hotel

17 October 2014

Peninsula Hotel is a foretaste of the journalism of the future: the aim is to describe the protagonists of a new Italian economy through interviews, maps and infographics. Behind each story, there is a large amount of data that the Accurat studio has shaped into essential and elegant forms to ensure an immediate experience, and one with a powerful impact. The idea was cooked up by the journalists Serena Danna and Andrea Marinelli and the photographer Giovanna Silva, founder of Humboldt Books, with the collaboration of Stefania Scarpini. Users can choose whether to listen to the whole of an interview, or break it up by keywords. They can immerse themselves in the existential cartography of the interviewee, discover his or her passions by browsing through lists of books, music albums and movies, or follow the course of each individual’s training through the timeline. Here, the colored dots also offer background information, such as a journey by InterRail, the birth of a child, a year of study abroad. The result is a multilayered narration, hard to reproduce by traditional means. For the moment, there are five stories. All to be read, watched and heard while waiting for the next ones to appear. Peninsula Hotel is a project realized in partnership with TIM.
