The protagonist of Steel on Marble, Marsotto Edizioni’s new collection, is a well-known name from the world of fashion, Lawrence Steele, who designs clothes for Aspesi. After numerous collaborations with designers like Naoto Fukasawa, David Chipperfield, Jasper Morrison and Konstantin Grcic, the Verona-based company is experimenting with new points of view, drawing this time on the creative universe of a fashion designer. A universe that shares with the world of marble a focus on cuts, a formal rigor and an attention to the process of production. Under the artistic direction of Studio Irvine, Lawrence Steele has chosen to concentrate on the contrast between black and white, alternating White Carrara and Black Marquin marble in an intelligent play of equilibria. The result is a series of tables, available in different shapes and heights, with sculpture and geometry in their genes that exalts the graphic aspect and preciosity of marble. For the entire duration of Milan Design Week, Steel on Marble will be visible from 10 am to 9 pm in the Spazio Bigli at no. 11/a, Via Bigli.
