Da giovedì, 1 dicembre, la mostra Re – Cycle, strategie per l’architettura, la città e il pianeta porta al MAXXI, insieme ad alcuni esempi di riciclaggio architettonico, anche il lavoro del grande fotografo africano Pieter Hugo, Permanent Error: 28 fotografie che hanno come protagonista la baraccopoli di Agbogbloshie nel Ghana, una delle discariche hi-tech più grandi del mondo. Qui computer, monitor e schede madri vengono bruciati per ricavare rame, ottone, alluminio e zinco producendo residui tossici che contaminano l’ambiente e le persone.

From thursday, December 1, the exhibition Re – Cycle, Strategies for Architecture, the City and the Planet will bring to the MAXXI, along with examples of architectural recycling, the work of the great African photographer Pieter Hugo, Permanent Error: 28 photographs focusing on one of the largest dumps of hi-tech waste in the world, located on the outskirts of the slum of Agbogbloshie in Ghana: here computers, monitors and motherboards are burned to extract their copper, brass, aluminum and zinc, producing toxic residues that contaminate the environment and its inhabitants.
