V62 SuperNikka
Vismara Marine, Mills Design

5 October 2015

SuperNikka is one of the few custom-built boats to have been produced in Italy in 2015, constructed by one of the country’s outstanding yards, Vismara Marine, and signed by the Irish studio Mills Design. The result is a 62-foot (19-meter) hull that is light, elegant and sporty: a concentrate of technology and visionary detail, a beautiful and fast cruiser that can count on Italian style and finishing and on a carbon fiber structure. In addition, this new Vismara yacht can be used both as a racer (it’s been in the water since May and has already won the 151 Miglia and the Mini Maxi World Championship at Porto Cervo) and as a comfortable boat for family cruises. The high speed is due to a hull which offers the same kind of performance as that of a catamaran: SuperNikka is designed to sail close to the wind with a certain degree of list: once it attains this angle the turbocharger seems to kick in, as the boat leaps forward and takes flight. When racing the boat is stripped down, but it can be literally “fitted out” before leaving for the vacations. The elements used for cruising can be installed without difficulty, while the tender garage door is equally easy to remove to make room for the lighter racing trim.
