Progetto Sorriso

18 October 2012

Smiling Tee and Secret Bag to put a smile on the face of less fortunate children. Smiling Tee: T-shirts designed and autographed by eleven celebrities, including Bianca Balti, Anna Dello Russo, Kris Ruhs, Fabrizio Sclavi and Filippo Timi, on sale with the profits going exclusively to charity. Secret Bag: bags with mystery contents, holding products donated by the fashion, design, furniture, make-up, shoes and accessory industries.

On Tuesday October 23, at 7 pm, bags and T-shirts will go on sale to raise money for Progetto Sorriso, the nonprofit organization that works on behalf of children who are born with malformations of the face and skull, or who are in need of facial plastic surgery for some reason, in Bangladesh, Congo, Burundi and Guatemala. Cranio-facial malformations and deformities are fairly common (cleft lip and palate are the most familiar), but while they are treated fairly easily and within a few months of birth in the West, in poor countries, without voluntary interventions, many people are unable to afford operations of this kind.

Progetto Sorriso gives children another chance to smile. Where: Frigoriferi Milanesi, Via Piranesi 10, Milan.

Roberta Mutti

She sits astride Italy, Belgium and Southeast Asia, and sometimes falls off. When asked what she does, she replies: I do things, see people. She has been writing about furniture for twenty years and is still not tired of it, in spite of everything. She has no free time, and is not even interested in it. For her it’s enough not to have to go to the same office everyday. She mixes with unlikely people, and contributes to Klat for this very reason.
