Casa Castiglioni

9 January 2014

Among all the masters who shaped the history of design in Italy, Achille Castiglioni left an indelible mark. Now, the foundation named after him is offering the public the chance to see many of the objects he designed in a domestic setting: the beautiful and perfectly preserved apartment that used to house his studio and is today the seat of the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni. The exhibition, curated by Giovanna Castiglioni and Marco Marzini, provides an opportunity to take a close look as some of his designs that are no longer in production, alongside others that have been re-released and are on sale directly at the studio-museum and on Yoox.com. Casa Castiglioni is open until February 22, by appointment.

She sits astride Italy, Belgium and Southeast Asia, and sometimes falls off. When asked what she does, she replies: I do things, see people. She has been writing about furniture for twenty years and is still not tired of it, in spite of everything. She has no free time, and is not even interested in it. For her it’s enough not to have to go to the same office everyday. She mixes with unlikely people, and contributes to Klat for this very reason.
