Necessary #032. Bridgestone Airless
12/22/2011

(via Inhabitat)

At one blow, they solve the problems of the spare tire and recycling. Bridgestone Airless tires, currently in the concept phase, have spokes of thermoplastic resin that support the rubber tire: so they don’t go flat, don’t puncture, don’t blow out and are 100% recyclable. Presented at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, they are being tested for the moment on small electric cars, but Bridgestone is planning on developing them for use on all vehicles. (via Inhabitat)
